Panchmukhi Hanuman Pooja & Homam

Panchmukhi Hanuman is worshipped for power, strength, protection and victory over enemies. Punchmukhi Hanuman meaning the Five-faced Hanuman is considered the most powerful and popular form of Lord Hanuman. In this form, Lord Hanuman has five faces which are a Vanara (Hanuman – East), Lion (Narasimha – South), Eagle (Garuda – West), Boar (Varaha – North) and Horse (Hayagriva – Top). In Ramayana, Demon King Ravana summons Ahiravana, the king of Patal Loka to help him. Ahiravana abducts Lord Ram and Laxman and takes them to Patal Loka. Lord Hanuman reaches Patal Lok to rescue Lord Ram and Laxman. There He comes to know of a boon of Ahiravana, that only someone who can blow 5 lamps placed in five different directions together will be able to kill Ahiravana. To achieve this, Lord Hanuman took the Panchmukhi form and blew the five lamps together, killed Ahiravana and rescued Lord Ram and Laxman. The Punchmukhi form of Lord Hanuman symbolizes Lord Hanuman’s mastery over the five directions, five senses and five tatvas (Panchatatva). Each of the five faces of the Punchmukhi Hanuman symbolizes a quality which Lord Hanuman blesses the devotee with:    

Hanuman (Vanara) for Bhakti and happiness   
Narsimha (Lion) for fearlessness, protection and removal of obstacles   
Garuda (the bird who served as Lord Vishnu's carrier) dispels all negative energies and ailments   
Varaha (Boar) for removal of all negative influences of all planets and bestows prosperity and wealth.    
Hayagreeva (Horse) blesses with knowledge, intelligence, victory and progeny

Panchmukhi Hanuman Dhyana Mantra

पञ्चास्यमच्युतमनेकविचित्रवर्णवक्त्रं,  
शशाङ्कशिखरं कपिराजवर्यम्।  
पीताम्बरादिमुकुटैरुपशोभिताङ्गं,  
पिङ्गाक्षमाद्यमनिशं मनसा स्मरामि॥  

Meaning:    
The face towards the East is Sri Hanuman Mukha in its original form. This face removes all blemishes of sin and confers purity of mind (Chitta Suddhi).   
Sri Karala Ugravira Narasimha Swami, facing the South, removes fear of enemies and confers victory.   
The face facing the west is that of Lord Shri Mahavira Garuda and this face drives away evil spells, black magic influences etc and removes all poisonous effects in one’s body.   
Sri Lakshmi Varaha murthi facing the North, wards off the troubles caused by bad influences of the planets and confers all prosperity – Ashta Aishwarya.   
The Urdhva Mukha facing upwards of Sri Hayagriva Swami confers knowledge, victory, good wife and progeny.’
