This set features a premium quality natural rare white Banalingam, carefully placed on an intricately designed brass Yoni base adorned with a serpent hood. One of the most revered Shivlings for worship, Banalingams are one-of-a-kind, naturally occurring, self-forming (Swayambhu) Shivlingams found only in the Narmada River bed in Madhya Pradesh, India. Reemerging from the riverbed just a couple of times every decade, these Banalingams are very unusual. Here, a brass Yoni with an elaborate pattern and snake hood enhances the spiritual importance of the Lingam and Yoni base, which is usually carved from genuine Narmada river stone.

This pure crystalline white Banalingam is very rarely found when the Narmada River rises from severe rains, shimmers with a divine glow when held up to a light, exposing lovely, organic patterns all over its surface. Due to its unusual geological formation amid the stony riverbed and riverbanks of the Narmada, the Banalingam is seven on the Mohs scale for hardness.

Because of its connection with Bhagwan Shiva, the Narmada River has great spiritual significance in Hindu tradition. Other names for the river include Rewa and Shankari, after the daughter of Bhagwan Shankar. Some consider the Narmada as holy as bathing in the Ganges, while others hold the belief that the river's stones are manifestations of Shankar.

The Brihat Vaivarta Purana states that there are three distinct kinds of lingas: the self-existent Swayambhu, the river-found Banalinga, and the stone-made Sailalinga.

The white Banalinga is renowned as the pinnacle of Shiva Lingas because it satisfies both types of desires: material bliss and spiritual redemption. Holy and profound for believers, the Banalingam is enhanced with the ornately carved brass Yoni base and snake hood.
