Black Narmada Shivling with Black Marble Yoni Base

Sacred Narmada Lingam divinely rests on magnificently crafted Yoni base handmade in black marble. The Yoni with broad base finely crafted in traditional design has carving of snake on around the Lingam and near the Yoni passage. Narmada lingams found naturally near the banks of holy Narmada River are very sacred for worship by householders. Lord Shiva in form of Lingam and Goddess Shakti in form of Yoni base signify the indivisible two in oneness energy of the passive space and active time from which all beings originate. Shiva Lingam is worshipped in homes and temples. Known as Parivrdha, Lord Shiva protects all and when worshiped in Shivalingam form, He bestows peace, unity and harmony in the family and guides devotees to spiritual path.

Lord Shiva from time immemorial has been worshiped in the form of a lingam. The worship of a Shiva Lingam always includes an abhisheka usually of milk and water, but commonly with other liquids, including yogurt, honey and clarified butter as well. The word Lingam is derived from the two Sanskrit words laya (dissolution) and agaman (recreation). Thus the Lingam symbolizes both the creative and destructive power of the Lord and great sanctity is attached to it by the devotees. The Narmada Lingam does not need to undergo ceremonial installation and avaha (invocation of divine presence) as the Lingam is divine representation of Lord Shiva and Shakti.

Placement: Place the Yoni base such that it faces North direction. Then the west face of the lingam is worshipped.
