The Nagvasuki temple is located on the banks of the Ganges at the northern end of the Daraganj locality. Nagvasuki Dev is worshiped in this temple and his stone idol is placed in the centre of the temple. Nagvasuki has also been called Sheshraj, Sarpanath, Anant and Sarvadhyaksha. The glory of this temple can only be gauged from the fact that the journey of every devotee and pilgrim to Prayagraj is not complete until he or she sees Lord Nagvasuki. Lakhs of pilgrims visit the temple on the day of Kumbh, Ardh Kumbh, Magh Mela and Nagpanchami. The description of this temple also appears in the Puranas. The Bhogavati shrine is believed to be inhabited by Nagavasuki. The Nagvasuki temple is considered to be the Bhogavati shrine on the west side of the Ganges towards the east. When the Ganges floods during the rainy days, its water reaches the stairs of the Nagvasuki temple.
