Loose Lotus Beads

Lotus beads or seeds also called Kamal gatta, carry with them all of the properties of the flower itself. Lotus is known as a flower of fertility purity and abundance and purity. As it rises toward the sun in full beauty, it rises above the muddy water of its environment. As we travel through the difficulties of life towards enlightenment, we can aspire to carry within us, this same energy of purity knowing that the world is the nourishing muddy water for us. Lotus flowers have many different spiritual connections through many different religions. Ultimately, this seed is connected to the energy of love, purity and abundance that is symbolised by Goddess Lakshmi. 

These seeds are popularly kept in cash boxes and altar for fortune and for helping overcome financial difficulties. Some carry them in wallet for luck or keep in puja altar for auspiciousness. It is said that the life of a lotus seed is forever unlike other plant seeds. 

If the beads are drilled, then they are used for making malas and bracelets for wearing purposes or for chanting mantras.
