Lord Venkateshwara also famously known as Srinivasa, Tirupati balaji and Venkatachalapati, is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. Venkateswara means the Lord who destroys the sins of the people. According to the Hindu scriptures, Vishnu, out of love towards his devotees, incarnated as Venkateswara and appeared for the salvation and upliftment of humanity in this Kali Yuga. It is said that Lord Kubera credited money to the god Venkateshwara (a form of the god Vishnu) for his marriage with Padmavati. In remembrance of this, the devotees going to Tirupati donate money in Venkateshwara\'s Hundi, so that he can repay Kubera and in turn get His blessings.
