Shree Mahalaxmi Temple is one of the oldest and most prominent temples in Mumbai Maharashtra and it attracts devotees from all across India and the world. The magnificent Mahalaxmi Temple in Mumbai stands as a beacon of divinity, housing the revered trinity of Goddesses: Shree Mahalakshmi, the embodiment of wealth and prosperity; Shree Mahakali, the vanquisher of demons; and Shree Maha Saraswati, the bestower of knowledge and wisdom. These divine idols, crafted from gold and adorned with intricate nose rings, gleaming gold bangles, and lustrous pearl necklaces, radiate unparalleled splendor and grace.
Thousands of devotees visit the Mahalaxmi Temple daily and the numbers increase many a folds during Fridays, Margashirsha month and festival times of Diwali, Dussehra and Navratri. The Mahalaxmi Temple was constructed in 1785 A.D. when a chief engineer Shri Ramji Shivji Prabhu unsuccessfully tried to build a link between two islands (creeks) and dreamt about the idols in the sea. The Goddess in his dream instructed the chief engineer to find the idols and construct the temple on top of a hillock. The idols were found and the temple was constructed and then the link between the two islands was constructed without any hitch.
Devotees have faith in the Mahalaxmi Temple's divine powers to fulfill their desires.
