'Rosa' has its origins from a Greek word 'Roden' meaning 'Red', as the ancient Rose was thought to have been crimson. Its first medicinal use was done by Anicenna, the 10th century Persian physician, and a Rose distillery existed in 1612 in Shiraz, Persia. Rose petals are scattered at weddings to ensure a happy marriage and are also used to aid meditation and prayer.

Rose water is helpful to correct poor circulation and heart problems. It is also used to boost the liver and gall bladder. Its medicinal properties makes it ideal for treating asthma, coughs and hay fever, and in liver congestion and nausea.
