Samhara Bhairava Puja

Lord Bhairava is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. As per Puranas, there are 64 forms of Bhairavas, out of which 8 are considered as primary forms together known as Astha Bhairavas. The Astha Bhairavas are considered as ruler of the 8 directions, the eighth or last amongst the Astha Bhairavas is the Samhara Bhairava. Lord Samhara Bhairava is often depicted with ten-arms adorning various weapons and things like trident, conch, discus, mace, damru and more. As per Puranas, looks of Samhara Bhairava are awe-inspiring, He has yellow-orange complexion and looks like lightning. His consort is Goddess Chandi, vahaan a dog and He rules the Northeast direction and Planet Rahu. Lord Samhara Bhairava is worshipped for protection against all negative energies and negativities. Divine blessings of Lord Samhara Bhairava help dissolve all sins and negative karma.
