Santan Gopal or Gopalji (Laddu Gopal) is the infant form of Lord Krishna who is the 8^th Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Since His birth on earth, Lord Krishna has been loved and adored for His Leela. A fierce battle raged on in which Lord Vishnu successfully beheaded Gajakarna with his mighty Sudarshana Chakra. As Gajakarna fell on the ground, the waters of the sacred rivers flowed out of his belly and returned to their original courses, much to the delight of the residents of Prayag.

There are several stories about how infant Lord Krishna who survived from being killed by Kansa, Putna etc and eventually grew up to destroy Narkasur and Kansa and many other demons. Krishna is symbol of joy, happiness, creativity, love and survival of life beyond all oddities.
