Satya means “truth” & Narayan is Lord Vishnu, Satyanarayan Katha is actually “truth” personified. This powerful Katha is devoted to Lord Vishnu & is actually a documented conversation between Lord Vishnu & Sage Narad. According to the Katha, Lord Narada once asked Lord Vishnu to explain to him about the miseries of life and how a man can get relieved from the same? On this, Lord Vishnu told Narada that, by performing Satyanarayan Puja and Katha, a human can get relieved from all miseries as it teaches one how to be on the path of truth and dharma during Kali Yuga and achieve Moksha or Liberation. Further Lord Vishnu recounts multiple stories set in Kali Yuga which teaches one to have a dharmic moral conduct.
