Shatru Samhara Homam is a powerful homam conducted for destruction of enemies. During this Vedic homam, Shatru Samharamurti, a fierce manifestation of Lord Kartikeya with six faces and twelve hands is invoked and worshipped for protection, power, strength and victory. In the homam Lord Kartikeya is worshipped with offerings of six different types of flowers, fruits and food offerings along with chanting of verses from the Sri Subramanya Bhujangam. Shatru means 'enemy' and Samhara means to 'annihilation' or 'destroy'. Thus, Shatru Samhara Homam is a sacred fire ritual which helps in protecting oneself from harmful intentions of enemies. The Shatru Samhara Homam is very beneficial to win over business rivals, competition and in legal issues as well. By performing the Shatru Samhara Homam, one can experience mental peace and relief from anxiety, thus it is also recommended to devotees who live with constant fear due to the unknown or due to presence of enemies. This puja is performed by politicians, business owners, CEO’s, bureaucrats for victory against competition and enemies in their fields.
Lord Kartikeya is also known by names Lord Subramanya, Lord Skanda or Lord Murugan, He is son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Shatru Samhara Homam is primarily conducted to nullify threats from all enemies both known and unknown. As per Kanda Puranam, once an asura named Surapadman, after attaining a boom from Lord Shiva that he could only be killed only by His son, grew arrogant and attacked the Devaloka. Lord Indra prayed to Lord Shiva for help. Surapadma necessitates the birth of a son of Lord Shiva, Murugan. A war is waged between Lord Murugan and Surapadma. In the war Lord Murugan defeats Surapadma and Surapadma turns in to a peacock which Lord Murugan accepts as His mount. As per scriptures, Lord Murugan defeated Surapadma at Tiruchendur, where today stands the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple. Here Lord Kartikeya is worshipped in His Shatru Samharamurti form. Conduct the Shatru Samhara Homam and seek blessings of success and protection against malicious forces.
