What is Agni Yantra?

Yantras are intricate and powerful geometric diagrams that hold profound significance in various cultures and traditions. They are geometric representations of specific Deities/Energies like how Mantras are audio/verbal representations of different Gods. Yantras act as channels to invoke the blessings and qualities of these specific deities. The Agni Yantra is one of the most purifying yantras because it is based on the Fire element, which burns away all impurities in our lives and past karmas. This yantra imbues the person with the power of spiritual radiance, causing them to ascend spiritually and destroy all negativity and hindrances in their path.

The 2-dimensional diagram of Agni Yantra comprises Three Circles around its Bindu or central point followed by 8 Lotus petals. The 3 concentric Circles represent the power of manifestation through material and spiritual realms. The circle is a representation of the spiritual realms in the real world and stands for expansiveness. The circle is also a symbol of the cycles of nature at every level, from the atom to the universe. The main goal of spirituality is to feel that all of these realms are one. The lotus petals symbolizes purity, enlightenment and transcendence. They show the unfolding of the divine essence within. Taken together, this is a powerful yantra to burn away all sorts of negative experiences and memories, stagnant energies and impurities from our system. This yantra invokes spiritual ascension and promotes progress and prosperity in life.

Hindu folklore says that fire used to be a force that ate everything on earth. Then, the Creator (Brahma) changed fire so that Bhagawan Agni would clean everything he touched instead of destroying it. In the Vedic healing practice, fire chants are used to bring the fire element into the physical body to clean and balance it.

Agni Deva is the first fire or the master of fire. He is also called the God of Fire. The word "agni" is also related to the Latin word "ignis," which means to start a fire or set something on fire. Agni Deva is sometimes seen as a link between people and the gods. This is because fire gifts get to the higher worlds.

Agni lives in every home, and all kinds of prayer and sacrifice must include him. Without Agni, rites can't be used to please the gods. Agni blesses all events, from birth to marriage to death. The sun and the stars were made by Bhagawan Agni.

According to Agni Purana, each individual possesses three types of Agni: the "fire of anger," the "fire of passion and desire," and the “fire of digestion.”

How to Meditate on Agni Yantra? (Visualization Technique)

Meditating on the Agni Yantra is the most powerful way to achieve union with the diagram. Achieving the union is said to reveal all secrets of the world and one is supposed to gain access to knowledge of higher realms. In an oversimplified sense one must recreate the Agni Yantra diagram accurately in the mind and visualize it. This visualization technique may sound simple but is quite tough to achieve, one must spend years of sadhana just to create an accurate image of the diagram in their head.

One can start by sitting in a comfortable posture facing east with an accurate image of Agni Yantra at their Eye Level.

Perform Pranayama Anolom Vilom (Alternating nostril breaths) 10 times & meditate to purify your mind and thoughts.

Start by focusing on the Centre Point Bindu with your gaze going inward to outward from the Bindu to the 1st Layer of the first Circle to the 2nd Layer of the second Circle to the 3rd Layer of the third Circle to the 4th Layer of the 8 petals of Lotus to the 5th Layer of the Circle to the 6th Layer of the Squares in the outermost part. These are the steps or Avaran of Agni yantra.

Then your gaze should go from the Outermost Gate back to the Bindu.

Try to avoid blinking your eyes during this process. You can do this for multiple rounds for 30 minutes.

After you can focus with intent for at least 30 minutes (the stamina to just focus may take quite some time to develop) close your eyes and try to recreate the image of the Agni Yantra Diagram accurately.

Once you can create and sustain an accurate image of Agni Yantra in your mind try to focus one by one on the steps mentioned above and go from Bindu to Outermost gate & Back to Bindu however all this needs to be done in your mind in meditation with your eyes closed.

This visualization technique takes many years to master and bless the Sadhak with material success as well as spiritual augmentation.
