Brahmin Bhoj is an age-old Hindu ritual of feeding Brahmins. All poojas, religious rituals, auspicious ceremonies and even Shradh rituals are not considered complete without feeding the brahmins. It is said that feeding the brahmins is equivalent to feeding the Gods and a satisfied Brahmin’s blessings are very much sought after by the doer of the puja ritual. Donating food is considered a high order of donation and a delicious pure vegetarian or a Sattvic feast is offered to them.
During the Pitru Paksha Shradh ceremony, Brahmin Bhojan is an integral part and said to please the ancestors who are said to bless the person performing it richly, that has a resounding positive effect on life. When we perform Brahmin Bhoj during Shradh, it is said ancestors are present energetically with the Brahmin and consume the food offered to the Brahmins.
Food in Brahmin Bhoja includes: The Brahmin Bhojan that will be served will include Rice, Chapattis, 2 varieties of Vegetable dishes, Lentils (Dal), Sweet Dish and salad.
At the start of the Bhoj, the brahmins will take sankalpa in your name and chant
Ashirvachan(blessings). A part of the donation received by you would be given to them in cash during the ritual. A short Video of the Sankalpa and Bhoj would be sent to you along with the photographs of the Puja ritual.
Please mention your birth details (name, date, time, place) at checkout. This is an individual Puja (you may do puja on individual name or include your near and dear ones in the puja).
Why Brahman Bhojan is Important? The Brahmin represents the head of the Virat Purush or cosmic soul. The Brahmins have been considered to be of the highest rank in the Hindu caste system. It is said that they have taken birth from the mouth of Lord Brahma. A Brahmin has the knowledge and is well versed in scriptures and the Vedic texts. Secondly, they are referred to as the God of the Earth i.e. Bhudev. Unless the Brahmin invokes the Gods through chanting, God cannot come and partake the oblations offered, as they are considered to have a connection with the Divine world. Therefore, donating to Brahmins is considered an act o high value. Brahman Bhoj is also called Brahm Bhoj as it is considered that anyone who feeds Brahmans is feeding Lord Brahma. It is a unique ritual of feeding Brahmins. It is considered auspicious and is done out of Seva Bhava and also for the fulfilment of your Sankalpa (desire). The basic idea behind Brahman Bhojan is to get their blessings and derive 'Punya'.
